FISH Probes
The principle of FISH (Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization) probe is to use fluorescently labeled short nucleic acid fragments (DNA or RNA probes) to form a stable hybrid structure with specific nucleic acid sequences in the target sample through base pairing. During the experiment, the DNA or RNA in the sample is first denatured into a single strand, and then the probe binds to the target sequence. The fluorescent signal carried by the bound probe can be directly observed under a fluorescence microscope, thereby achieving precise positioning and quantitative analysis of the target gene or chromosome. This technology is widely used in gene expression research, chromosome abnormality detection and cancer diagnosis.
